Elektromontaż Wschód has finished a complete modernization of the two-system 220/110/15 kV Ełk 1 station for the purposes of connecting with the 400/110 kV Ełk Bis station built by PSE Operator S.A. (Transmission System Operator). The technical documentation was prepared by Pracownia Projektowa Enspro Sp. z o.o. belonging to the Elmont Group S.A. The official opening of the investment took place on May 10, 2019.
The aim of the investment was, among others increasing the reliability and quality of electricity supplies to consumers, improving security, increasing the technical efficiency of customer service, the automation of network and improvement of its technical condition.
The modernization was carried out on an active facility, and the overriding goal during the construction phase was to secure uninterrupted electricity supplies to its customers. Therefore, a significant part of the works had to be carried out only on day’s off and on public holidays – said Tomasz Łapucki, Technical Director at Elektromontaż Wschód
Thanks to the connection of the Ełk1 station with the Ełk Bis station, the conditions for supplying the region will be significantly improved by the so-called connection to the second “source” of power supply, from the side of the “Polska-Lithuania Energy Bridge”. This is of great importance in the case of energy security and reliability of electricity supplies for the area of operation of the Białystok Branch.
