We are pleased to announce that Elmont has signed a contract for the implementation of the first stage of work related to the construction of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a total capacity of 100 MWh. The project will be located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
Under the contract, Elmont is responsible for the comprehensive design and construction of a high-voltage/medium-voltage (HV/MV) substation (GPO) to enable the connection of the planned energy storage facility. The scope of work includes all construction tasks, such as the execution of foundations, support structures, substation buildings, internal roads, and accompanying infrastructure. We are also responsible for the complete electrical works, including the installation of primary and secondary circuits and the integration of the SCADA system.
An important part of the project will be the construction of an access road to the GPO substation and BESS system, including a new connection to the public road and the renovation of a section of that road. Our company will also carry out all necessary work related to connecting the energy storage system to the power grid at the connection point with the Distribution System Operator (DSO), including commissioning and testing.
Additionally, we will design and build a high-voltage (HV) cable line along with a fiber optic network to enable communication and safe connection of the BESS system to the DSO grid.
The completion of the project is scheduled for the end of August 2026.
This is another important step for us in the development of technologies that support the stability and efficiency of the national power system. We are proud to contribute to the energy transition by implementing modern energy storage solutions.
